Experienced Implant Dentists at Your Service

Choosing a dentist with a lot of experience with implants is very important for a good result. Our team at Dental Arts of Cherry Hills has skilled restorative dentists and oral surgeons. They have many years of experience in dental implant placement.

Our restorative dentists are great at making natural restorations that work well with your teeth. They listen to your needs and goals. This way, your new smile will be just as you want it.

Our oral surgeons understand the bone and gum tissues around your teeth. They use a careful approach and their skills to make sure your dental implant placement is accurate and comfortable.

Understanding Dental Implants: Types and Benefits

Dental implants are a long-lasting and effective way to replace missing teeth. They are tiny titanium posts that doctors put into the jawbone during surgery. These posts act like tooth roots. They support crowns, bridges, or dentures. This method offers great stability and a natural feel. With dental implants, you can eat, speak, and confidently smile.

Unlike regular dentures that sit on the gums and can move around, dental implants connect with your jawbone. This connection happens through a process called osseointegration. It gives you a secure and long-lasting solution.

The Different Types of Dental Implants Available

There are different kinds of tooth implants to help with specific needs: Endosteal, Subperiosteal, and Zygomatic implants.

Endosteal implants are common and are placed in the jawbone to support artificial teeth like crowns or bridges. Subperiosteal implants sit on the jawbone under the gum if there's insufficient bone for an endosteal implant. Zygomatic implants attach to the cheekbone instead of the jawbone and work well for severe bone loss in the upper jaw.

Each implant type serves different needs, giving a strong base for your new permanent teeth.

Dental Implant Aftercare: Ensuring the Longevity of Your Implants

Proper care after getting dental implants is very important for keeping them successful over time. Like natural teeth, dental implants need regular cleaning to stay healthy and work well.

This includes:

·      Brushing twice a day with a soft toothbrush and special toothpaste with fluoride

·      Flossing every day to get rid of plaque and food that gets stuck in hard places

·      Going to the dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings to keep an eye on your oral health

What to Do In Case of Any Complications

Dental implants usually work well, but problems can happen sometimes. You should call your dentist immediately if you feel any strange pain, swelling, bleeding, or discomfort. Quick care can help stop more issues and keep your implants healthy in the long run.

It's important to keep your mouth clean, avoid smoking, and take care of health issues like diabetes. These steps can greatly lower the chance of having problems. You can enjoy your new smile for many years by looking after your oral and overall health.

What is the difference between a dentist and a cosmetic dentist?

General dentists generally offer mostly preventive and restorative treatments which include regular checkups and cleanings, fillings, root canals, and other types of tooth repair. A cosmetic dentist focuses on improving your smile and can include restorative and cosmetic dental treatments. When you are in search of a cosmetic dentist, be sure to research his/her education, training, and experience in the particular procedure you wish to undergo.
